This shop specializes in Kendo equipment and shinai, for the most part, but also has Karate and Judo gi available for purchase. I was greeted by the owner, who was in his late 70’s or 80’s, and his wife and was offered tea while I looked around. After mentioning that I did Kyokushin Karate and was in Tokyo for the 12th World Tournament, the owner’s wife showed me over to her display of patches that she stitches herself. I bought a Kyokushin kanji and an Ichigeki patch.

Suidobashi Shokai is even closer to Suidobashi Station than Shobudo Shokai.

水道橋商会は水道橋駅の近く剣道、空手、柔道の道具を販売してる武道具屋です。オーナーは７０、８０年代のカップルです。東京で第１２回全世界空手道選手権大会（２０１９）に見に行った時、この店に行きました。見て回りながら、オーナーにお茶を入れられました。極真のパッチ2枚を買いました。

The Osaka Isami store sells equipment for both traditional martial arts and MMA as well has shirts, DVDS, and books. I used to go here quite often when I lived in the Kansai area and it’s a pretty cool place. They often have flyers for different dojo and events in the area. The Osaka store is just a few doors down from the Osaka Prefectural Arena, which plays host to Sumo and various martial arts tournaments throughout the year. It’s about a 5 minute walk from Namba Station. Nipponbashi, Den Den Town, and Dotonbori are all within a 5-10 minute walk.
