Sae Shim Kumdo Academy is a Korean Kumdo dojang in Norwood, New Jersey. A family-owned and operated dojang, they offer Kumdo(Kendo), Wooden Sword, and Live Sword classes.
Notes/コメント:Founded in 1997, Hong Moo Kwan Kumdo Academy specializes in the Korean martial art of Kumdo. The teach no other arts at this school. The headmaster, Albrand Jo, is also a professor at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, the only American university that has a martial arts major available.
Notes/コメント: Kumdo Academy Sung Moo in Closter, NJ. Kumdo is the Korean version of Kendo and while they are very similar, there are some slight technical variations and all of the commands are given in Korean. While Korea sends their national team to compete in the Kendo World Championships in Japan, a lot of the Kumdo schools outside of Korea have chosen to create their own organizations and not be affiliated with larger Kendo organizations. Kumdo Academy Sung Moo also teaches Siljun Dobup, which I believe is a Korean version of Iaido.
